"Many of our retirees have contacted us about a "certificate of existence" which was sent to them by the city. As was requested we have checked into it and are recommending you either take it to city hall to fill out or have it notarized and sent in. You do not have to include your social security #. Appearently after it was found out that Hartford was still sending pension checks to deceased members New Britain was told in an audit that they needed to update their records, this is what prompted these papers. If you have any questions or concerns, or trouble getting to either city hall or a notary, please contact Ed Preece at Station 8."
